Expassionates are a band made up of musicians from various styles of rock, jazz and country that blend to create a unique sound with the music of Scott Easterday. It began as a recording project, continued as a performing band with a streamlined group of new musicians that recorded a second album and currently is revisiting the recording that started it all with a brand-new lineup.

Expassionates are currently doing live performances of the CD album Verse, Chorus, Bridge recorded in 1998. A new band showcasing the varied styles of Kansas City music was assembled in 2015 that includes Scott Easterday on vocal, guitar and keyboard; Bryan Hicks, bass and Nate Hofer, pedal steel, who all played on the original recording, plus Troy Van Horn, guitar; Matt Richey, drums; and Patrick Alonzo Conway, saxophone and percussion.

The original 1998 recording was engineered by Chad Meise, recorded at the El Torreon Ballroom in Kansas City and featured musicians Bryan Hicks, bass; Nate Hofer, pedal steel; Ryan Bennett, drums; Marco Pascolini, guitar; Richard Alwyn, harmonica; Mark Sutherland, saxophone and Jazzbo (Bill Hargrave), trumpet.
